For the inaugural episode of the Gallery Geek Podcast, I explore my run-in with prolific street artist and activist Shepard Fairey, aka OBEY Giant. I do not want to give too much away, but this is a retrospective about my personal experiences with Fairey. My interactions with Fairey were ones of the most memorable moments in my life. His artwork and activism is a motivation for my creativity and thinking outside the box.

Also, I go over the release of Fairey’s “HOPE” Obama poster during the historic 2008 Presidential Election. The iconic graphic meant a lot for the Obama’s campaign in 2008. The red, white, and blue graphic was a phenomenon which was all over the United States around that time. Many imitations and homages are seen everywhere today.
